Who Oversees the Scholarship Fund?

The expenditures of the fund will be controlled by an internal Faith in Place Review Committe. This team will include but is not limited to the following staff positions: 

  • Youth Coordinator 

  • Outreach Director 

  • Program Director 

  • Operations Director

How Does The Review Committee Select Recipients? 

The Committee will meet as needed to review Fund (donations will roll over year to year – tracked internally) status and to make decisions on when to award scholarships and how much to award. Scholarships will be awarded in partnership with Faith in Place’s Communications and Development teams. The Review Committee will make a simple and straightforward application process, and scholarships will be paid out per the discretion of the Committee. The Committee must reach consensus to move forward with a Scholarship.

Who is Eligible for the Scholarship?

Students entering their Junior or Senior year of college with a declared environmental major or minor. 

 

Eligibility and Prioritization of Applicants

Scholarships will be prioritized to: 

  • Faith in Place Eco-Ambassador Alumni or Eco-Ambassador interns alumni 

  • Priority will be given to new students each scholarship cycle, but that does not mean a student can not receive a scholarship more than once, per the Committee’s discretion

How Will the Scholarship be Distributed

  • Recipients will directly receive (made out to them personally) a lump sum payment stating it is for tuition costs or other academic-related uses. No report is required. 

  • Recipients will be featured in Faith in Place’s communications and may be called on for speaking opportunities to share how the Scholarship Fund supported them.

How Much of My Donation Will Go To The Scholarship Fund? â€‹

  • 100% donations made on this page will be reserved by Faith in Place for the Scholarship Fund

  • For donations made by check, please include "Veronica Kyle Scholarship Fund" in the memo line to restrict your gift.

  • It should be noted that donors can not restrict gifts to individual students.
