One Green Team At A Time
People of Faith and Spirituality Leading Environmental Justice
We empower people of diverse faiths and spiritualities to be leaders in advancing environmental and racial justice, providing resources to educate, connect, and advocate for healthier communities.

Our Green Team Model
A Green team is group of 3 or more people from a House of Worship who provide cooperative leadership to educate, connect, and advocate for healthier communities. There are over 200 Green Teams in Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana.

A Program for Everyone
What Matters to You?
From programs and experts randing from climate to solar energy, we are sure there is a program at Faith in Place for you! If not, we are eager to support you in getting resources to get it started.

Our Programs
Sustainable Energy
To mitigate the long-term harm of the climate crisis, we must rapidly transition away from fossil fuels and toward a clean, resilient, and just energy system. This transition must prioritize affordability, sustainability, and workforce development, particularly for those communities most harmed by the extractive fossil fuel economy.
Healthy Communities
Thriving communities require a safe, clean environment and access to essential resources. Further, communities are safest when the people in those communities are connected to the land and to each other. To build resilience against climate change and environmental injustice, we support natural spaces and a safe and healthy environment.
People-Powered Futures
Building a just and sustainable future requires investing in people—ensuring that communities have the power to shape environmental policy, access economic opportunities, and lead the transition to a green economy. We support Eco-leadership, a healthy democracy and workforce pathways.
