“Peace be to earth and to airy space! Peace be to heaven, peace to the waters, peace to the plant and peace to the trees!... With this peace the dreadful I now appease, with this peace the cruel I now appease, with this peace all evil I now appease, so that peace may prevail, happiness prevail! ” ~Atharva Veda XIX

In honor of world water day, Faith in Place is offering our first water workshop. This event will include a little overview on how people of faith might think about water ethically from our own Rev. Dr. Clare Butterfield and two breakout sessions. The first will be offered by Erin Tuttle of the Conservation Foundation in Naperville, and will cover rain gardens as a way to hold the rain where it falls. The other will bring Lyndon Valicenti of the City of Chicago Conservation Corps to talk about rain barrels. One lucky attendee's name will be drawn to win a rain barrel! Bring a friend from your congregation so you can attend both breakout sessions. Thanks to our friends at Emanuel Congregation for hosting this event.
To practice simplicity, bring your own water in a re-usable container! The event is free.
Here's a flyer you can use to publicize at your own congregation: public/pfimages/file/water%20workshop%20flyer.doc
