past events : Sermon at Third Unitarian Church
“As for the wholesome land--its plants come forth by permission of their Lord. Yet as for that land which is befouled--they come forth from it only meagerly. Thus do We transform the signs of God for a people who are thankful. ” ~Quran 7:58

Sara Spoonheim will preach at Third Unitarian Church about “A Dangerous Unselfishness”: The Need for a New Environmental Ethic in the First World.
The market is so full of green products today you might think we could consume our way to a brighter environmental future. But to change the course of global warming, people in the first world need to make sacrifices, or as Martin Luther King, Jr. said, to live with “a dangerous unselfishness”. Sara will address this challenge and describe Faith in Place’s new initiatives to equip people of faith to be good stewards of the Earth.
